Coimbatore is one of the largest cities and urban agglomerations of the state of Tamil Nadu. As a developed city of the region, Coimbatore is popularly referred as the Textile Capital of South India or the Manchester of the South India. It is also acknowledged as "the Pump City" due to supplying two thirds of motors and pumps needed at different parts of India. The city is one of the biggest exporters of jewelries, wet grinders, and poultry and auto components. The city is situated on the banks of River Noyyal and surrounded by the Western Ghats.

Located 15 km away from Coimbatore, the temple is visited by a large number of devotees coming to the city. The residing deity Dandayuthapani is believed to have performed several miracles here.

Perur Pateeswarar Temple

The temple is also recognized as The Peru Shiva Temple or Mel Chidambaram. Situated at 6 km away in the west of Coimbatore, the temple is perched on the shores of River Noyyal. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva. Perur Temple was constructed by Karikala Cholan. At present, it is among the most popular temples of Coimbatore having huge idols.

Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary

Anamalai wildlife sanctuary is located 90 km away from Coimbatore and is a great place to explore the beauty of nature in Tamil Nadu. It is also known as the India Gandhi national Park and is a preferred destination of the wildlife lovers. The sanctuary is spread over an area of about 958 km² and is considered as an ecological paradise.

Khadi Gandhi Gallery

Khadi Gandhi Gallery was founded on 15th July, 1970 in Coimbatore by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The gallery display pictures of Gandhiji from his childhood to death. Tourists can see several exciting and rare photographs of Mahatma Gandhi.

Thirumoorthy Temple

This temple is situated just 50 km from Pollachi. The most unique feature of the temple is its three Moorthy Idols that were originated in one place. Situated at the foot of Thirumoorthy Hills, this temple is surrounded by scenic natural beauty.

Coimbatore Agriculture University

It is one of the most reputed institutes of this kind in South Asia. The university is comprised of some pink stone buildings and also features a science museum. It will give you an insight into practices of agriculture.

Black Thunder

Codissia Trade Fair Complex

This is one of the oldest exhibition ground in South India for industry. The complex witnesses all major trade fairs, industrial shows and other important events.

VOC Park

VOC Park is a zoological garden and amusement park in Coimbatore. It is built in the memory of the freedom fighter VO Chidambaram. The park houses about 900 animals, including birds, mammals and reptiles.
