Establish by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II on 18th November, 1727, Jaipur is the capital city of the royal state of Rajasthan. Popularly known as pink city due to the color of the stone used in its monuments, Jaipur is a versatile tourist destination. It is renowned for its magnificent buildings displaying exclusive architectural brilliance. The city of Jaipur was under the architectural supervision of Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, a popular Bengali architect. Creation of the city started in 1727 and about 4 years were spent in completion of the major palaces, roads and square.

Jaipur city was constructed using the principles of Shilpa Shastra – the science of Indian Architecture. Jaipur is encircled with rugged mountains on three sides. Amber Fort

Build using white marble and red sandstone, Amber Fort is a wonderful blend of Mughal and Rajputana architecture. The fort reflects a glorious aura and features a museum having an amazing collection of puppets, coins, structures, and pictures of the royal family members and rulers.

Hawa Mahal

Built by Sawai Pratap Singh, Hawa Mahal is one of the most stunning structures in Jaipur. With incredible structural design, Hawa Mahal appears like a pyramid and has 953 small windows adorned with lattice work. These windows are known as "Jharokhas". The palace remains always cool due to air passing through each window. Hawa Mahal is an excellent masterpiece of royal architecture.

Jaigarh Fort

Positioned at an altitude of 500 feet on a hill, Jaigarh Fort is built by Mirza Raja Jai Singh and Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726. This fort is generally popular as the fort of the victory and is one among the few military structures of medieval India. Along with a canon (Jai Ban), the fort features many attractions, including palaces, a granary, temples, and more.

Nahargarh Fort

Located 6 km north of Jaipur, Nahargarh Fort is one of the major tourist attractions to visit in Jaipur. It features numerous buildings out of which, Madhavendra Bhawan is the most appealing one. Royal family used to visit the place as an excursion in summers.

Sheesh Mahal

Built by King Man Singh, the palace is inside Amer Fort. The palace features beautifully adorned wall displaying gorgeous paintings and flowers made of glass. People are not allowed to go inside but they can get a view from outside.

Jantar Mantar

It features 19 incredible of architectural astronomical instruments providing an insight into the role and place of astronomical bodies in our life. It features the largest stone sundial of the world and is a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

City Palace

This is a palace complex in Pink City of India and one of the must visit places in Jaipur. The palace houses Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal. It also incorporates a remarkable and great range of courtyards, gardens and buildings.

Albert Hall Museum
