City Palace

City Palace of Udaipur is located over the bank of Pichola Lake. The construction of palace was started by Maharana Udai Singh and followed by many other kings of that era. The palace maintains its uniformity despite being constructed by several builders. There are a number of balconies, towers, huge gates and museums in the palace. You can enjoy the amazing view of the lake from different corners of the palace. Some of the popular structures within the palace are Bari Mahal, Zenana Mahal, Chini Mahal, Krishna Vilas, and Manak Mahal.

Sahelion Ki Bari

Built by Maharana Sangram Singh for his queen in 18th century, Sahelion ki Bari is an elegant garden. It features pools with graceful kiosks, flowerbeds, lawns, pools, fountains and an array of trees. These all together make this garden eye-catching. This is a place where queen used to meet with her friends. There is a sitting room too, which is adorned with paintings and glass mosaics.

Lake Pichola

Udaipur sightseeing tour is incomplete without visiting this gorgeous lake. It is an artificial lake, which was constructed by Maharana Udai Singh II. The lake is 4 km long and 3 km wide and features Lake Palace in the center. City Palace is also situated on the eastern bank of this lake. Lake Pichola is a wonderful attraction in Udaipur.

Bagore ki Haveli

Bagore ki Haveli is one of the popular places to see in Udaipur. Amir Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of Mewar constructed this haveli on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. It is an 18th century monument, which displays an array of costumes and modern art. Delicate and superb glass and mirror work enhance the interiors of the Haveli. It is a must visit attraction in Udaipur.

Jag Mandir

Jag Mandir was built by Maharana Karan Singh. It is located on the other island palace in Lake Pichola. The temple enjoys some exquisite carvings and features a row of carved elephants and chhatri, etc.

Fateh Sagar Lake

Constructed in 1678 by Maharana Jai Singh, Fateh Sagar Lake is situated to the north of Lake Pichola. The main attractions of the lake are Nehru Island and an island housing a solar observatory.

Eklingji Temple

On the way to go Nathdwara, Eklingji Temple is a beautiful temple with intricate stone carvings and having historic significance. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva and it has a very systematic way of darshan.

Jagdish Temple

With a religious atmosphere and architectural marvel, the temple turns into an ideal place to visit for Hindu devotees. Its ornate carvings and wonderful structure are real treat for the visitors.

Sas-Bahu Temple

It is originally Sahastrabahu Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is in partial ruins now but still its heritage charm remains alive. It is one of the topmost places to visit near Udaipur.

Fateh Prakash Palace

Now a heritage hotel hotel, Fateh Prakash Palace is an integral part of City Palace Complex. The interiors are soaked in history and the palace also features many miniature paintings, portraits, imperial artifacts and the armory of the Mewar dynasty. The palace will transport you to celebrated era of Rajasthan.

Monsoon Palace (Sajjan Garh Palace)

This palatial hilltop residence is an architectural marvel and gives the panoramic view of the whole city. The place overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake along with views of complete Udaipur. The palace was built to watch monsoon clouds. Watching sunset from this palace is an awesome experience. Formerly owned by the Mewar royal family, it is currently under the control of the Forest Department of the Government of Rajasthan. The palace has been opened to the public recently and enjoys the stunning views of the sunset. Elevated in the Aravalli Hills, just outside Udaipur, the palace is enlightened in the evenings, offering a golden orange glow.

Jaisamand Lake

One of the best places to visit in Udaipur, Jaisamand Lake is known for featuring a wide variety of fishes. The lake offers gorgeous surroundings due to greenery all around and brings you close to the nature. Boating is an awesome thing to do here.

Shilpgram

It is the Rural Arts and Crafts Complex of Udaipur, which is positioned over 70 acres of land and surrounded by the Aravali hills. Shilpgram is conceived as a living ethnographic museum to display the lifestyles of the folks and tribes of the West Zone.

Bharatiya Lok Kala Museum

The museum houses an interesting range of Rajasthani local art, costumes, paintings, idols, musical instruments, masks, dolls and weapons. The collection of puppets in the museum is mainly captivating.

Crystal Gallery

It displays an incredible range of crystal glassware, including dining cutlery, chairs, tables, beds, s perfume bottles, and different items of various shapes, sizes and colors. It also has lots of paintings of the ruling dynasty.

Gulab Bagh and Zoo

Also known as Sajjan Niwas Garden, Gulab Bagh is spread over 100 acres of land. The garden is home to a wide variety of roses and the place has been named after the abundance of rose flowers available here. There are different wildlife animals that can spotted in this zoo.
