The Goddess Karni Mata is the presiding deity of the temple, who is widely accepted as an incarnation of the Hindu deity "Durga". As per legends, Rao Bikaji, the creator of Bikaner was blessed by Goddess Karni Mata and since then, the goddess is being worshipped as the patron deity of the Bikaner Dynasty. Karni Mata Fair:
Karni Mata fair is one of the most popular festivals of Deshnok. This festival / fair is held twice annually for ten days in March-April and September-October in the complex of the Karni Mata Temple.

It is amongst the most colourful carnivals celebrated at Deshnok as well as in whole of Rajasthan. It is held in the honour of the Hindu deity 'Gauri Mata'. Gangaur is celebrated by women for the welfare of their husbands. It is held for 18 days in the month of March.
