Best Places to Visit in Gangotri

Gangotri Temple:
One among the four sacred dhams of Chardham Yatra, Gangotri Temple is the highly regarded temple of Goddess Ganga. It is sited at an altitude of 3048 meters above the sea level and enjoys the picturesque magnificence of rugged terrains, Bhagirathi River and snowcapped mountain peaks. Gangotri Temple has great place in the heart of Hindu pilgrims.

Tapovan:
Situated Gangotri Glacier area of Uttarakhand state, Tapovan is a holy destination. It is situated at foothills of Shivling peak. The trek to this place starts from Gomukh Glacier. This area features several meadows, streams and blossoming plants and enjoys the amazing views of surroundings.

Bhairon Ghati:
Located at the confluence of Jat Ganga and Bhagirathi River, it is a scenic valley situated 10 kms away from Gangotri. Bhairav Nath Temple is surrounded by dense forest and can be reached after crossing Jahanvi River on foot.

Submerged Shivlingam:
It is a natural rock Shivling underwater in Gangotri. There are some legends related to this place.
