The Jurala project, also known as the Priyadarshini Project is located at a distance of just 10 KM from Kurvapur village in the Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. Laid over the Krishna River, this Reservoir is at a level of 1045 feet. It also has a power project that has a water storage capacity of 11.94 TMC, which was inaugurated in the year 1995.As per Puranas, there are four entrances to Srisailam. The east one is believed to be Tripurantakam, to the North it is believed to be Umamaheshwaram, Siclcihavattam to the south and to the west, it is considered Alampur. Alampur town is home for Nava Brahma Temples, which is a cluster of nine temples constructed by the Chalukya rulers situated on the west bank of the River Tungabhadra.
