It is an ancient fort, which was built by the Kakatiyan rulers to protect the city from invaders. It is located in Medak district and around 100 KM away from Hyderabad. It is known to have been built in the 12th century by Maharaja Pratap Rudra and was also called as 'Methuku Durgam'.Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Sri Venugopala Swamy temple, Koti Lingeshwara Swamy temple are the popular pilgrim spots in Medak. Apart from temples places like Paikondalu, Manjeera Forest and Kondapur are other tourist attractions / places in the city.
