It is a wonderful tourist destination, which is located at an altitude of 3000 meters above the sea level. It is the second ancient monastery of the world after Lhasa. Tawang Monastery is also supposed to be one of the largest lamaseries of Mahayana sect that is recognized as the Golden Namgyal Lhatse too.Sela Pass is one of the frequently visited tourist attractions in Tawang and is called as a nature observer's paradise on earth. This pass entirely gets covered with the snow in winters. On the way to go Sela Pass, you can also visit another attraction, known as the Paradise Lake.
