Ukhrul is a famous town situated in the Ukhrul District in the north-east Indian state of Manipur. It is believed to be the highest hill-station of Manipur. Khangkhui Cave:
This limestone cave is a popular tourist place in Ukhrul. As per the folklore, the interior of the cave is home to a devil king who lives in a Darbar hall; a royal bedroom is also believed to be present inside. During Second World War, local inhabitants used to take shelter inside.
Khangkhui Mangsor:
In close proximity to Ukhrul, this cave forms part of Khangkhui village. As with other caves of antiquities, there are numerous myths linked to this place. As per belief, a deity named 'Nagsor' used to live here along with his two wives.
Kachouphung Lake:
Another famous tourist attraction situated at a distance of 7 KM from the destination is 'Kachouphung Lake'. Edged by the hills named 'Achuwa Magi', the lake sprawls over an area of 9 acres and inhabited by many fishes and other water inhabitants. It is shaped like an Indian map.
Shirui:
