Ukhrul is a famous town situated in the Ukhrul District in the north-east Indian state of Manipur. It is believed to be the highest hill-station of Manipur. This limestone cave is a popular tourist place in Ukhrul. As per the folklore, the interior of the cave is home to a devil king who lives in a Darbar hall; a royal bedroom is also believed to be present inside. During Second World War, local inhabitants used to take shelter inside.
In close proximity to Ukhrul, this cave forms part of Khangkhui village. As with other caves of antiquities, there are numerous myths linked to this place. As per belief, a deity named 'Nagsor' used to live here along with his two wives.
Another famous tourist attraction situated at a distance of 7 KM from the destination is 'Kachouphung Lake'. Edged by the hills named 'Achuwa Magi', the lake sprawls over an area of 9 acres and inhabited by many fishes and other water inhabitants. It is shaped like an Indian map.
