Constructed by the Pathania Rajputs about 900 years ago, Nurpur Fort is situated 25 KM away from Pathankot. The fort was built by Raja Basua and was originally called Dhameri. Around 100 years after the construction of the fort, this temple in the hands of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, who renamed it as Nurpur Fort.This temple is one of the most revered places around Pathankot. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and situated on the bank of the River Ravi, about 20-22 KM from Pathankot City. This temple is also known as the Mukesran Mandir and is known to have served as the house of the Pandavas during their exile.
