Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport to Darjeeling, which is located at a distance of 90 km from this place. It is connected to Kolkata and Delhi with regular flights. This airport also has direct flight connectivity from cities like Guwahati and Patna. On arrival at the airport, one can hire private transport to reach the hill resort.
If you prefer to travel by road, nothing can be more rewarding than this. You can take the private buses, ITDC deluxe or AC buses in Kolkata until Siliguri. From Siliguri, you can either take a Trekker or hire a Maruti Van to Darjeeling, as per your budget. Trekkers are available at cheap price in compared to the private Maruti Vans.
New Jalpaiguri Railway Station is the nearest railhead from Darjeeling that links the destination with different important cities. It is connected to Delhi and Kolkata by Guwahati Rajdhani and Darjeeling Mail respectively. Toy train also runs between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling except in Rainy Season. After getting down at the station, one can hire cab to cover the distance.
