Lansdowne is a cantonment town in Pauri Garhwal district of the Uttarakhand state of India. It was earlier known as Kaludanda due to the Black Hill of Garhwal. It was renamed after then Viceroy of India, Lord Lansdowne in year 1887. Lansdowne was actually one of the most preferred hill stations of the British.
