Rangareddy, India

Situated in the south Indian state of Telangana, Rangareddy is a district that was formed on 15th August, 1978. The capital city of Hyderabad serves as the administrative centre for this place. Located in the Central Part of the Deccan Plateau, Rangareddy is bounded by Medak district and on the south by Mahaboobnagar District, on the west Gulbarga district and in the east, Nalgonda district. As per the history, until 1948, this place was under the rule of Nizams of Hyderabad. Previously, the district was known as Hyderabad Rural District, but later it was renamed as K.V. Ranga Reddy district. This new district was formed from the twin cities of Secunderabad and Hyderabad along with some urban areas of Hyderabad district. Ramoji Film City:
Located in the Rangareddy District, the Ramoji Film City is a film studio complex, equipped with inclusive facilities for filmmaking, which attracts a large number of producers towards it. In addition, guided tours of the complex are also provided for the visitors. This complex comprises an area that hosts reconstructions from the Mauryan era.

Maheshwaram:
This place is a famous pilgrimage centre located in the Rangareddy region. The key attraction of Maheshwaram is the ruins of an ancient Shiva temple. Besides this, comprise of two fortresses namely, Vishnu Ganga and Shiva Ganga along with a Kacheri House of Akkanna and Madanna & four ministers of the Bhaktha Ramdas era; as well as the Kodanda Ramalayam and the Shivaji Durgam. Each edifice present at this place dates back to over 500 years.

Chilkur:
Chilkur is a small village, located in the premises of Himayath Sagar Lake of Rangareddy District. It is not only a scenic spot, but is also a religious site due to the presence of a large Balaji temple. Located close to the Sagar Lake, the temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Balaji. This place also houses the National Deer Park that was established with the purpose of protecting and nurturing the fauna of this region.

Sanghi:
Sanghi is a temple complex constructed by the Sanghi Family in the Rangareddy District. It has been built entirely in marble and was sculpted by the renowned craftsman Sri Ganapathy Stapathy. Collectively, this temple complex is called as `Paramanandagiri', comprising temples of Lord Rama, Lord Hanuman, Lord Ganesha, Lord Kartikeya, Lord Venkateshwara, Goddess Durga and Goddess Ashtalakshmi.

Shamirpet Lake:
This huge lake is located in the Shamirpet Mandal of Rangareddy district. It is situated at a distance of 42 KM from Hyderabad and is a popular weekend gateway providing fresh air and solitude.
